BIOGRAPHY
Nicola Scotti received his degree in Chemistry in 2008 from the University of Milan and his PhD in Industrial Chemistry in 2012. From 2012 to 2018 worked at CNR- ISTM (now CNR-SCITEC) in Milan as post-doc. From December 2018 he joined as research scientist at the same group.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
His research activity is mainly focused on the preparation, characterization and testing of innovative heterogeneous catalysts mainly for the transformation of platform molecules derived from renewable feedstock for the production of different chemicals within a biorefinery concept. In particular, his work covers the transformation of the compounds coming from cellulose and hemicellulose upgrading through cascade processes and multifunctional catalysts. During his research activity he develop an excellent expertise in the characterization of heterogeneous catalysts by several techniques and especially on the use of probe molecules (pyridine, CO, CO2, alcohols) in infrared spectroscopy
