BIOGRAPHY
Researcher at ISTM CNR since 2009, she got the Ph.D in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Milano (Dept. of Inorganic, Metallorganic and Analytical Chemistry) in December, 2002 and the Degree in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Milan in October, 1998. She has been recipient of various fellowship from Consorzio INSTM and University of Milan mainly targeted to the use of innovative heterogeneous catalysts.
She was finalist at the “European Young Chemists Award” during the “1st European Chemistry Congress” -Budapest (HU), 26 -31 August 2006 and winner of the“Green Chemistry Poster Prize for the best contribution presenting innovative research” during the 1st European Chemistry Congress - Budapest (HU), 26-31 August 2006, during the Scientific Symposium “Green and Sustainable Chemistry and Processes” (Chair: Prof. W. Leitner – Prof. I. Horváth).
RESEARCH INTERESTS
The main research topic is heterogeneous catalysis applied to the synthesis of fine chemicals and to renewable materials selective transformations. Research activity has been mainly focused on the study of heterogeneous non-toxic and non-noble catalysts as substitutes of traditional stoichiometric reagents for organic synthesis and on the development of solid catalysts for the upgrading of renewable sources, such as vegetable oils and cellulose.
Scientific activity is summed up in more than 50 scientific papers and two international patents.
Involved in national projects funded by the Italian Ministry for University and Scientific Research (PRIN 2002) and by Regione Lombardia (VeLiCa project) and international ones (CNR-RAS bilateral project with the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis - Novosibirsk; CNR-CONICET bilateral project with the Institute of Catalysis of Santa Fè, Argentina; CNR-BAS bilateral project with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences).
